Brussels, 18/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 18 March, the European Commission announced the addition of ‘Kräuterhefe’ to the Community register of Traditional Speciality Guaranteed (TSG), and the registration of ‘Liptovská bryndza’ as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO). ‘Kräuterhefe’ from Germany is a yeast preparation produced organically from fermented plants and herb extracts. This protein-rich liquid yeast is produced using a traditional method. ‘Liptovská bryndza’ is a soft sheep's milk cheese with a delicate, slightly tangy taste, made using traditional methods in the Liptov region of northern Slovakia. It is made from fresh, unheated sheep's milk, then matured, crumbled, ground and salted. (LC)
