Brussels, 18/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN) approved, by 37 votes to 2 with 2 abstentions, the conclusion of the air transport agreement between the United States of America and the EU, as well as with Iceland and Norway, on Wednesday 18 March (see EUROPE 13800/2). This agreement, signed in 2007 and amended in 2010, introduces provisions aimed at establishing an extensive aviation partnership with benefits for consumers, airlines and workers (see EUROPE 10095/7, 11950/27). In October 2025, the EU Council sent a letter to the European Parliament requesting its approval of the proposal for a decision presented in May 2011 by the European Commission.
