Nikos Christodoulides calls for a mechanism to be put in place for implementing the mutual assistance clause of the EU treaty

At a conference organised by the EPC in Brussels on Wednesday 18 March, the President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, whose country currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the EU, called for a mechanism to implement Article 42.7 of the EU treaty, which concerns a mutual assistance clause between Member States, if one of them is victim of an armed aggression.
