The differences of opinion between the industry and NGO sectors on the future Digital Fairness Act (DFA) illustrate the difficult road ahead. On the one hand, there is a call for the DFA to become a text that completely fills in European gaps in online consumer protection. On the other, there are calls for the initiative to be put on hold, at the risk of creating “additional layers of regulation in areas that are already largely covered”.
