Eight EU Member States call for Schengen-wide visa restrictions for Russian combatants

Ahead of the European Council meeting on 19 and 20 March, eight EU Member States sent a joint letter on Wednesday 11 March to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, António Costa, calling for measures to ban current and former Russian combatants involved in the war in Ukraine from entering the Schengen area.
