02/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 2 March, the European Commission launched a public consultation on the difficulties encountered by private equity investors when they wish to sell their shares in European companies. These investors often finance start-ups and innovative companies, but sometimes struggle to recoup their investment due to a lack of buyers or suitable solutions. However, without a clear possibility of resale, they invest less, which can slow the growth of young companies. In particular, the Commission is considering the creation of a European platform to make it easier to trade shares in unlisted companies. The contributions received by Monday 27 April will be used to decide whether new measures are needed to facilitate these transactions and support business financing within the EU.
