20/02/2026 (Agence Europe)On Friday 20 February, the European Commission launched the applications for the sixth edition of the ‘New European Bauhaus’ (NEB) awards and the second part of the NEB Boost initiative. These awards recognise innovative projects that combine sustainability, aesthetics and inclusion. The 2026 edition introduces a special prize dedicated to “water resilience” and is open to new countries, including Moldova, Japan and Brazil. Thirteen winners will receive up to €20,000 each. At the same time, the Boost programme will support 20 projects in small municipalities or rural areas, with a grant of €30,000 per winner. “By promoting these projects, we are helping the best innovative ideas turn into inspiration for real change across all EU regions”, said Raffaele Fitto, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Cohesion and Reforms. Candidates have until 17 March 2026 to apply. (JM)
