16/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – According to a draft decision by the ambassadors of the Member States to the EU meeting within the Political and Security Committee on Friday 13 February, Finland’s Satu Koivu is to become the new head of the EU civilian mission in Armenia (EUMA). Her mandate will run from 6 March 2026 to 19 February 2027. She will replace the German Markus Ritter, in post since 24 January 2023 (see EUROPE 13107/31). Launched in February 2023, the aim of the EUMA mission is to observe and report on the situation on the ground, to contribute to human security in the areas affected by the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia and to support confidence-building between the two parties. Its mandate also runs until 19 February 2027. (CG)
