16/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – In the fourth quarter of 2025, seasonally-adjusted GDP rose by 0.3% in the euro area and the European Union compared with the previous quarter, according to a flash estimate published by the EU’s statistical office (Eurostat) on Friday 13 February. Of the twenty countries for which data is available, wealth creation was strongest in Lithuania (1.7% of GDP), Cyprus (1.4%) and Poland (1%), while it fell in Romania (-1.9%) and Ireland (-0.6%). GDP growth was modest in France (0.2%), Italy and Germany (both 0.3%), but strong in Spain (0.8%). According to an estimate of the annual growth rate for 2025, GDP has risen by 1.5% in the euro area and 1.6% in the EU. In addition, the number of people in employment rose by 0.2% in the euro area and the EU in the fourth quarter of 2025. (MB)
