Ocean Act “will not create new obligations”, says Costas Kadis

04/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – At the annual European Blue Economy Conference, on Tuesday 3 February, the European Commissioner for Fisheries, Costas Kadis, presented the actions to come under the European Ocean Pact. A ‘high-level Ocean Pact Board’ will soon be established to advise the European Commission on the implementation of the Pact, and the first report on the state of the Ocean Pact will be published by the end of 2026(see EUROPE B13784A13).
