03/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – In 2024, 9.2% of the population of the European Union had difficulty keeping their homes at an adequate temperature, Eurostat reported on Monday 2 February. However, the situation has improved by 1.4 percentage points compared to 2023. The most severe cases were observed in Bulgaria and Greece, with 19% of the population unable to keep themselves warm. Lithuania (18%) and Spain (17.5%) are close behind. Conversely, the lowest proportions are found in Finland (2.7%), Poland and Slovenia (both 3.3%), Estonia and Luxembourg (both 3.6%).
