Brussels, 28/01/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 27 January, the European Commission launched a public consultation to gather input from stakeholders on ways to facilitate the use of power purchase agreements (PPAs). These long-term contracts are generally concluded between electricity generators and commercial consumers. The Commission is seeking to assess the regulatory and non-regulatory obstacles to their development. It will then publish recommendations, based on its previous guidelines of 2022, aimed at helping Member States to remove obstacles to the introduction of PPAs. The consultation period will last four weeks, until 20 February. To see the public consultation: https://aeur.eu/f/kfs (PLD)
