European Commission wants to accelerate deployment of small modular reactors with its new dedicated strategy

Brussels, 28/01/2026 (Agence Europe) – At the Stakeholder Forum of the European Industrial Alliance on Small Modular Reactors on Tuesday 27 January, the European Commissioner for Energy, Dan Jørgensen, reiterated that a strategy dedicated to SMRs would be presented in the coming months to accelerate the development and deployment of these advanced small nuclear reactors in Europe.
