26/01/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 26 January, the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Victor Negrescu (S&D, Romanian), announced on the social network X the launch of an internal reflection group on the future of the European Parliament, the only EU institution directly elected by the citizens of the Member States. MEPs Vincze Loránt (EPP, Romanian), Ana Catarina Mendes (S&D, Portuguese), Damian Boeselager (Greens/EFA, German), Patryk Jaki (ECR, Polish), Antonella Sberna (ECR, Italian), Martin Hojsík (Renew Europe, Slovak) and Younous Omarjee (The Left, French) are part of this group, which aims to rethink the way the Parliament operates in the long term. An interim stage would have been set for September to report on the progress of the work. (MB)
