26/01/26 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 26 January, the European Commission published in the Official Journal of the European Union a regulation imposing a definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of candles, tapers and the like originating in China. This legislation follows the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation in December 2024 in response to a complaint lodged by the EU industry. Provisional anti-dumping duties came into force on 14 August. With this regulation, the definitive anti-dumping duty is set at between 56.7% and 60.3%, depending on which exporting producers were or were not included in the survey sample, and has no retroactive effect.
