21/10/2025 (Agence Europe) – On the evening of Monday 20 October, the European Parliament’s Committee on Security and Defence and its Committee on Industry, Research and Energy approved the agreement reached with the EU Council on 16 October (see EUROPE 13733/4) on the European Defence Industrial Programme (EDIP), which aims to strengthen the European defence technological and industrial base. The agreement was approved by 94 votes in favour, 11 against and 10 abstentions. The agreement will be put to a vote by all MEPs at the plenary session in Strasbourg from 15 to 18 December.
