European Parliament proposes series of ideas to simplify tax compliance and eliminate administrative hurdles

On Thursday 9 October, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on the simplification of tax regulations by 499 votes to 66 with 53 abstentions (see EUROPE B13681A27).

Initiated by Michalis Hadjipantela (EPP, Cypriot), this text sets out a series of ideas for simplifying tax compliance and eliminating administrative hurdles in the internal market, thereby reducing the financial cost of compliance, notably for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which, according to the report,...
