Initially scheduled for Thursday 9 October at the European Parliament’s Conference of Presidents (COP), a discussion on the allocation of parts of the 2028-2034 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) to the various European Parliament committees has been cancelled.
A draft agenda consulted by Agence Europe shows that the discussion could be held at the next COP, on 15 October. By September, eight committees had applied for lead responsibility for national and regional partnership plans, and almost as many had done the same for Pillar 2 of the MFF, known as the Competitiveness Fund (see EUROPE 13707/26).
The President of the European Parliament had proposed allocating the Competitiveness Fund to the Industry Committee (ITRE) and the ‘Global Europe Fund’ to the Foreign Affairs (AFET) and Development (DEVE) Committees, but she had not decided on the national plans.
On Wednesday, October 15, however, the allocation of national plans will not be addressed by the group presidents. (Original version in French by Florent Servia)
