EU strongly condemns detention of dozen members of United Nations by Houthis

02/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 1 September, the European Union strongly condemned the arbitrary detention of at least 11 United Nations staff members by the Houthis in Yemen since Sunday, as well as the seizure of UN property and attempts to break into UN premises in Sanaa, “in violation of International Law and the Vienna Conventions, providing for the inviolability of diplomatic premises at all times”. “The EU calls for the immediate release of all detained personnel,”...
