European Commission unveils online platform dedicated to artificial intelligence tools

On Tuesday 24 June, the European Union launched a global platform to centralise a range of resources, data and tools relating to artificial intelligence (AI) and its development in the EU.

Called ‘AI-on-Demand’, the platform includes open access to “reliable and ready-to-use AI modules, tailored to the needs of industry and SMEs”, explains the Commission.

The institution is encouraging researchers and developers to “register their own tools and models” on the platform in order to gain visibility and help disseminate European AI solutions that are “adapted” to industrial needs.

This platform is part of the ‘AI Action Plan’, unveiled by the Commission in April, whose list of initiatives should be able to relaunch the EU in the global race for artificial intelligence (see EUROPE 13616/8).
