23/05/2025 (Agence Europe) – The research ministers of the European Union’s Member States approved a series of conclusions calling for a global strategy to boost the uptake of artificial intelligence (AI) in science, with an ethical, sustainable, inclusive and human-centric approach, on Friday 23 May (see EUROPE 13646/5). The European Commission is currently drawing up a new European strategy for AI in science. According to the conclusions, this should be based on the best available knowledge and practice and developed in close collaboration with the Member States and the research and innovation (R&I) community. “Europe must seize these opportunities quickly, while also addressing the ethical and societal challenges and risks of this rapidly advancing technology”, said Polish minister Marcin Kulasek.
