07/04/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 7 April, the European Commission released a further €10 million to help the victims of the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on Friday 28 March. An emergency mobilisation of €3 million was already carried out last Wednesday by the EU institution (see EUROPE 13613/32). This additional aid aims to provide temporary shelter, medical care, drinking water and support for separated families. UNICEF is distributing a shipment of 80 tonnes of humanitarian supplies, flown in from Copenhagen last week. In addition, a team of 12 European experts arrived in the country to strengthen coordination with local humanitarian partners, the Commission said on Monday. (BD)
