28/03/2025 (Agence Europe) – The European Open Science Cloud Tripartite Governance (EOSC) met on Tuesday 25 March in Kraków, Poland, to discuss key developments in the sharing of research data and digital resources across Europe and the next steps in reaching a consensus on the overall model and sustainability of the EOSC beyond 2027. According to the European Commission, this meeting marked a new stage in the development of the EOSC as a pan-European system of systems, offering tangible benefits to its nodes and real added-value services to researchers. The review of the establishment phase of the ‘EOSC Federation’ (see EUROPE 13454/7), the publication of the Federation handbook and its contribution as an essential pillar of a ‘fifth freedom’ for research and innovation in the EU single market were discussed.
