20/03/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 19 March, the European Union launched a €2 million subsidised project to support around 8,000 people affected by the violence and disruption during the 2024 summer uprising in Bangladesh (see EUROPE 13464/15). The project will be implemented by the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), in close collaboration with the government of Bangladesh. It aims to provide access to medical and rehabilitation services, to support existing healthcare facilities and to offer appropriate mental health support. The grant project is fully funded by the European Union and is scheduled to be implemented until August 2026. (PLD)
