20/02/2025 (Agence Europe) – Apóstolos Tzitzikóstas, Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, and other officials from the European Commission’s Directorates-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) and Internal Market and Industry (DG GROW) will be taking part in ‘Cruise Week EUROPE 2025’ from Wednesday 12 to Friday 14 March in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Organised by the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), this dialogue will bring together the CEOs of European shipyards for the first time. Discussions will focus on the importance of the cruise sector for European maritime technology and shipbuilding. The sessions will address the investment needs to meet the industry’s ambitions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and there will be debates on the importance of a resilient and competitive tourism sector.
