23/01/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 23 January, the European Research Council (ERC) announced the results of the final round of its 2024 ‘proof of concept’ competition. A total of 134 projects received grants, each worth €150,000. The Proof of Concept grant enables ERC-funded researchers to test the practical viability of scientific concepts, explore commercial opportunities or prepare patent applications. Among the winners of the 2024 competition are projects aimed at developing efficient navigation systems for satellites, tackling food fraud and reallocating existing medicines to the fight against cancer.
