15/01/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 15 January, BusinessEurope – the representative body for business in the EU – published its priorities for the coming years in a document entitled ‘Reboot Europe: Europe’s Economic Success Everyone’s Business’. The organisation is calling on co-legislators to change policies in order to “tackle the structural weaknesses that are undermining companies’ efforts to deliver for people”. The ‘Clean Industrial Deal’ will be crucial in this respect (see EUROPE 13558/8). “The EU should ensure that the future new Clean Industrial Deal includes a sufficiently ambitious first set of concrete measures to reduce regulatory burden in our Single Market, lower energy costs, encourage innovation, address skills and labour shortages, and diversify Europe’s export and import markets”, according to BusinessEurope.
