06/01/2025 (Agence Europe) – From 1 February, Georgia will accede to the Common Transit Convention and the Convention on the Simplification of Formalities in Trade in Goods, following the signing of the formal agreement on Thursday 19 December. Like Norway, Iceland, Switzerland, North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine and the United Kingdom, Georgia will benefit from simplified border crossing rules. These rules include mutually recognised financial guarantees and a reduction in controls, which should reduce costs for companies in the EU, Georgia and the other participating countries. (AD)
