Postponement by one year of formally adopted regulation on imported deforestation, after eight months of uncertainty

19/12/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 18 December, the Council of the European Union formally adopted the one-year postponement of the regulation on imported deforestation. The rules will have to be applied from 30 December 2025 for large operators and traders and from 30 June 2026 for small and medium-sized enterprises, compared with the initial dates of 30 December 2024 and 30 June 2025.
