13/12/2024 (Agence Europe) – Negotiators from the European Parliament and the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union will meet in Strasbourg on Tuesday 17 December to launch inter-institutional negotiations on the ‘CMDI’ legislative package designed to strengthen the management of a banking crisis. According to a parliamentary source, this first meeting will simply consist of presenting the positions of the European Parliament (see EUROPE 13376/21) and the EU Council (see EUROPE 13435/2) and identifying the topics to be delegated at technical level. The next Polish Presidency of the EU Council would like to reach a final agreement before the end of June 2025. (MB)
