On Tuesday 26 November, the European Commission launched a new ‘EU-Pakistan Talent Partnership’ to step up cooperation on migration and better match labour market needs and skills between the EU Member States and Pakistan, according to a press release.
The ‘Talent Partnership’ brings together Pakistan, interested Member States and the Commission to identify common needs and joint actions.
With EU funding of €3 million, the new programme aims to create new opportunities for labour and educational mobility between the EU and Pakistan.
“The programme will provide transfer of knowledge, expertise and address skills needs in selected sectors in Pakistan and interested EU Member States, including construction, agriculture, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), renewable energy manufacturing and hospitality”.
The Commission launched these partnerships in 2021 and is currently developing them with Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia, the press release points out. (Original version in French by Solenn Paulic)
