20/11/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 20 November, the European Union and Singapore signed an agreement to strengthen their collaboration on responsible and secure artificial intelligence (AI). The agreement, between the European AI Office and the AI Safety Institute in Singapore, aims to promote “safe and human-centred practices”. It provides for exchanges on the safety of AI models, joint testing, standardisation and joint research. This partnership is part of the EU-Singapore Digital Pact signed in 2023 to support innovation while minimising the risks associated with the development of increasingly powerful AI models. In October, the G7 countries committed themselves to a more “ethical” use of artificial intelligence, through a new development framework (see EUROPE 13505/19). (IS)
