European Commission adopts guidelines to strengthen community inclusion and autonomy of persons with disabilities

On Wednesday 20 November, the European Commission adopted guidelines aimed at guaranteeing the right of persons with disabilities to live independently and to be fully integrated into their communities. These guidelines, which are part of the 2021-2030 European strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities, encourage a transition from institutional care to housing and support solutions within local communities.
