09/10/24 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 8 October, the European Commission published a call for contributions as part of the introduction of a delegated act based on Article 17 of the revised Directive on the energy performance of buildings (see EUROPE 13390/20), designed to help credit institutions determine how they can provide larger volumes of financing for the energy renovation of the worst-performing buildings. This delegated regulation will define a comprehensive portfolio framework that financial institutions will be able to use voluntarily, including actions to increase lending but also to protect vulnerable households. The call is open until 5 November this year and will provide input for the Commission, before the launch of a three-month public consultation before the end of the year.
