European Commission bans hake fishing by certain Italian vessels

08/10/24 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 3 October, the European Commission adopted a regulation establishing a fisheries closure for common hake in geographical sub-areas 8, 9, 10 and 11 of the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) caught by demersal longliners flying the Italian flag and having an overall length equal to or greater than 18 metres and less than 24 metres.
