On Monday 7 October, the European Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN) approved the opening of interinstitutional negotiations with the Council of the EU (trilogues) on five legislative dossiers (see EUROPE B13475A29, B13443A10). Parliament had adopted its position on these issues before the European elections in June, while leaving it to the newly elected representatives to decide whether to begin the trilogues.
