For Mr Koopman, multiannual aid programme for Palestinians could enable EU to play a greater political role

The Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR), Gert Jan Koopman, said on Monday 30 September that the multiannual aid programme for Palestinian recovery and resilience (see EUROPE B13457A1), on which the European Commission is currently working, could enable the EU to play a greater political role in the region and with its partners.
