26/09/24 (Agence Europe) – The President-elect of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, will meet next week in Brussels, they announced on the evening of Wednesday 25 September in New York, as part of the United Nations General Assembly. Questioned on 26 September, the Commission has not yet given a date for this meeting. “I want to reset our relationship with the EU and make Brexit work for the British people” the Labour leader wrote on X, saying he was “looking forward” to the meeting in Brussels. “Good to see you on the margins of the General Meeting. Looking forward to welcoming you [to] Brussels next week to discuss the reset of EU-UK relations”, the President also commented on X. (SP)
