18/09/24 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 18 September, MEPs broadly approved the proposed numerical strength of the interparliamentary delegations for this term of office. As a result, most delegations for relations with third countries will have the same number of members as during the previous mandate: 16 members for the EU/Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee; 31 for the EU/Russia Parliamentary Association Committee, for example. The delegations for relations with Israel and Palestine will continue to have 18 members each. The delegation for relations with China gains one member and increases to 38. The delegation for relations with Afghanistan has also been increased, to a total of eight members. The text adopted provides for each delegation to have a maximum of two Vice-Presidents, with the exception of delegations to multilateral assemblies.
