18/09/2024 (Agence Europe) – At the 6th EU-India Water Forum, held in New Delhi on Wednesday 18 September to coincide with India Water Week, the European Union and India committed themselves to advancing collaboration on sustainable water management. The India-EU Water Partnership (IEWP), established in 2016 and now in Phase III, focuses on river basin management, climate resilience and urban flooding, while supporting seven co-funded research projects worth €37.4 million. The forum also explored trilateral collaboration between East Africa, India and the EU to address water-related challenges in Lakes Victoria and Tanganyika. The partnership is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, promoting sustainable water management, infrastructure and climate resilience. (PLD)
