17/09/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 17 September, the ETF (European Transport Workers’ Federation), the EFBWW (European Federation of Building and Woodworkers) and EFFAT (European Federation of Food, Agriculture and Tourism Trade Unions and related sectors) organised a demonstration in front of the European Parliament in Strasbourg to call for a binding European initiative on labour intermediaries and fair working conditions in subcontracting chains. The event was expected to bring together at least 700 workers from across the EU. “This event will be an important opportunity to promote common demands for equal treatment in subcontracting chains, regulated labour intermediation (including a ban on intermediaries in posting) and more and better inspections”, explains EFFAT in particular.
