Definitive green light from EU Council for a tranche of macro-financial assistance of €4.2 billion for Ukraine

24/07/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 24 July, the ambassadors of the Member States to the European Union (Coreper) officially approved the granting of a tranche of €4.2 billion in macro-financial assistance to Ukraine under the €50 billion ‘Ukraine Facility’ up to 2027 (see EUROPE 13344/18). Last week, the European Commission deemed that the conditions relating to the nine reforms (governance of large state-owned enterprises, adoption of a ‘Climate/Energy’ plan for 2030, etc.) to which the aid was conditional had been met (see EUROPE 13455/4).
