04/07/2024 (Agence Europe) – Based on the results of the European elections in June, the Hungarian Minister for European Affairs, János Bóka, predicted “a complete restructuring” of the political landscape to the right of the Christian Democrat group in the European Parliament in several stages, on Thursday 4 July, during a discussion with several journalists, including Agence Europe. “The political spectrum on the right of the EPP Group has been significantly strengthened. It will result not only in strengthening existing political platforms, but in a complete restructuring of the right. Any restructuring of the political right is not possible without an active participation of Fidesz”, he declared, saying he expected this restructuring to take place in several stages. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s ambition is to create a political group of national patriotic parties, which would be positioned further to the right than the conservative ECR Group (see EUROPE 13443/15).
