European Commission launches several calls worth €210 million for projects in cybersecurity sector

€210 million to develop the EU’s technological capabilities and strengthen its cybersecurity preparedness... On Thursday 4 July, the European Commission announced that it had opened several calls for projects under the ‘Digital Europe programme’.

Of these €210 million, €35 million will be dedicated to cybersecurity projects protecting large industrial installations and critical infrastructures, €35 million to deploying cutting-edge technologies and tools, €20 million to help Member States implement cybersecurity strategies and €12.8 million will be invested to further set up and expand cybersecurity operations centres.

€55 million is to be dedicated to higher education programmes in key areas of digital technologies, €25 million to help Member States achieve Europe’s Digital Decade targets (see EUROPE 13444/11), €20 million to develop local digital twins and finally, €8 million will be invested in European Digital Media Observatories to fight against disinformation.

For calls for projects relating to cybersecurity, the application deadline is 21 January 2025. For those relating to digital skills, the deadline is 21 November 2024. (Original version in French by Isalia Stieffatre)
