European Climate Foundation has supported over 700 partnerships for energy transition and climate justice by 2023

The European Climate Foundation (ECF) published, on Sunday 30 June, its annual report for 2023, listing its actions in the field of energy transition and climate justice. Entitled ‘Forging a green, democratic and peaceful future for all’, the report presents initiatives and collaborations with over 700 partners.

Despite a difficult geopolitical context, the ECF has integrated climate solutions into Europe’s economic and social responses. In Germany, the Foundation contributed to the law on the energy transition of buildings and, in Ukraine, to the green reconstruction of liberated areas.

The ECF has launched the ReNew2030 initiative to increase global wind and solar capacity by 500% by 2030.

In addition, the launch of the European Climate Neutrality Observatory (ECNO) will make it possible to monitor the EU’s progress towards climate neutrality.

In addition, the Foundation has stepped up its support for climate finance initiatives, in particular by setting up the Taskforce on International Taxation, and is seeking to generate funds through new taxes to support the transition of developing and vulnerable countries.
