SECTORAL POLICIES / Transport
Despite seven compromise proposals, negotiations on combined transport have not been concluded at EU Council
Brussels, 05/06/2024 (Agence Europe)

On Wednesday 5 June, the Member States’ ambassadors to the EU (Coreper) adopted the progress report on the Combined Transport Directive. Despite seven compromise texts presented by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU, the negotiations were not successful.

Presented in November 2023 by the European Commission (see EUROPE B13287A18), this Directive is part of the package on the greening of freight and should improve the efficiency and competitiveness of intermodal freight.
