22/05/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 22 May, the European Commission adopted a proposal to revise certain fishing opportunities in Atlantic and North Sea waters throughout the course of the year. The Total Allowable Catches (TACs) in question include anchovy in Iberian waters – as soon as the scientific advice is available, the Commission will update the proposal – and pollack in the Bay of Biscay (a definitive TAC of 959 tonnes and an increase in the minimum reference size for the conservation of this fish from 30 to 42 cm). The proposal also looks at other changes, including northern shrimp in Skagerrak-Kattegat and several stocks of sprat. Link to the proposal: https://aeur.eu/f/cbe (LC)
