20/03/2024 (Agence Europe) – The #BeInclusive EU Sport Awards 2023 ceremony, which recognises sports projects that promote social inclusion, announced its finalists on 15 March. Of the 88 initiatives, nine finalists in three categories (‘Breaking barriers in sport’, ‘Promoting gender equality in sport’ and ‘Sport for peace’) are competing for the grand prize. Projects come from all over the EU, such as More Than Just a Game in Italy, aimed at equality and well-being for women and non-binary people, or Princesses in Cleats in Croatia, which encourages the participation of women and girls in sport. The winner will be announced by the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Iliana Ivanova, on 16 April in Liège (Belgium).
