European Parliament calls on EU to impose sanctions on Nicolás Maduro

The European Parliament believes that the European Union should strengthen sanctions against the Maduro regime in power in Venezuela, “including senior officials, members of the security forces and the Supreme Court of Justice, as well as Maduro himself”, in a resolution tabled by the EPP, Renew Europe and ECR groups and adopted on Thursday 14 March by a large majority (497 votes in favour, 22 against and 27 abstentions).
