European Commission will assess need to extend safeguard measures on steel and aluminium

The European Commission has opened an investigation in view of the forthcoming expiry of its safeguard measures on steel and aluminium (30 June 2024). These tariff quotas were introduced in 2018 and extended in 2021 (see EUROPE B12750A25).
